Introduction :

Inventory management is a critical component of global supply chain management. The importance of inventory management in the supply chain is that it is the sustained key to success and profitability. Often, organizations look at inventory management from warehouse management perspective only.

There is a missing link in managing inventory in total picture of business. This is an advanced inventory reduction training program that provides a holistic view on how the most significant role inventory plays in supply chains is balancing the demand and supply parameters. Inventory management is where all the elements of the supply chain converge. Too little inventory when and where it’s needed can create unhappy customers. But a large inventory has its own liabilities — the cost to store and insure it, and the risk of spoilage, theft and cash flow problems. Companies with complex supply chains and manufacturing processes must find the right balance of optimal inventory between having too much inventory on hand or not enough inventory in order to be competitive and profitable in the long run basis.
