As everyone in the quality game is aware, the world now has a new version of ISO 9001. ISO standards help make the world a safer and more efficient place and help tackle a myriad of societal issues. They also touch almost everything we do.

The sparked interest in the new ISO 9001:2015 revision is significant, given that the standard has notable changes vs. the current 2008 version. The task of understanding the revised standard’s effect to your organization and how to prepare for the transition can be overwhelming, yet a few simple steps now can save significant time later.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO), headquartered in

Switzerland, is the world’s largest developer of voluntary International Standards. International Standards provide state of the art specifications for products, services and good practice, helping to make industry more efficient and effective. Developed through global consensus, standards also help to break down barriers to international trade.

The new ISO 9001 standard aligns with high-level organizational structure, requiring all new ISO management system standards to be aligned on a high-level structure with a set of common requirements. The new version of the standard brings the user a number of benefits.
